Instagram is testing its most anticipated feature to let users post photos from their desktops. One of the spokespeople confirmed that posting photos to Instagram from the desktop is their most requested feature and they are actively working on it to implement it as soon as possible.
Unlike Facebook and other social networking sites, Instagram is the only site that’s only available on mobile platforms. Even though with the latest updates, they made Instagram accessible on the desktop by letting users browse, check messages and edit profile settings. The only major functionality that is still missing is posting photos or videos from the desktop.
Confirming this, the spokesperson mentioned “We know that many people access Instagram from their computer,” a spokesperson said. “To improve that experience, we’re now testing the ability to create a Feed post on Instagram with their desktop browser.”
Although this feature is found to be working by the Twitter users but Instagram later confirmed that this feature is only available for internal testing purposes only.
Posting photos to Instagram is the major core business for Instagram, and making it available to more platforms will benefit Instagram in many ways. But, there are some concerns raised complaining about how Facebook is ruining the Instagram experience by turning it to be one more Facebook. Instagram, for now, did not mention anything about whether this latest update will let users post Reels from its website or not, but we hope they might throw that too as well. Reels are seeing huge growth on Instagram and are all set to surpass TikTok monthly active users very soon.
