Are you wondering what are the expected features in iPhone 13? Yes, it’s time again for us to witness the launch of the flagship of all flagships, the launch of the new iPhone 13, we are merely days away from the launch. Apple’s new iPhone is scheduled to debut this Sept. 14. Rumors have been floating around for months now, and we have an idea of what to expect from the 2021 model.
The Display is the major of expected feature in iPhone 13
The iPhone 13 lineup will most likely be similar to the iPhone 12. The lineup is presumed to include the iPhone 13 mini which will sport a 5.4-inch display, the iPhone 13 with a 6.1-inch display, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch display. On the higher-end iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, there are rumors that Apple might introduce a new always-on display similar to the Apple Watch, along with a ProMotion display. This pumping the refresh rates up to 120Hz, which will be similar to that of the iPad Pro. The notch cutout within the display is expected to get smaller this year. The iPhone 13 will possibly feature around a 30% reduction in size in terms of width, as per reports.
Camera updates can be drastic
Focus is also expected to be on the camera, particularly for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. A wide lens with sensor-shift stabilization might be added. As we saw last year, Apple included better stabilization and 2.5x optical zoom only to the high-end iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will possibly feature an upgraded ultra-wide camera, which will shift from 5P & fixed focus to the new 6P & autofocus.
Another improvement in the iPhone 13 will reportedly be as support for the Portrait Mode video. Apple is also reportedly developing a new version of Portrait Mode that’ll take into account the LiDAR Scanner for accuracy improvisation. There also seems to be a new astrophotography feature for the iPhone camera. This will be coming in the form of a new “astrophotography mode” that will allow your iPhone camera to detect the moon or stars.
Processor might stay almost similar with little advancements
The iPhone 12s/iPhone 13 is expected to be powered by Apple’s newest processor, which could likely be referred to as the A15 Bionic processor. Though it’s not clear as to what the A15 processor will bring to the table, however, reports per TrendForce state that the chip will be built on a 5 nm process similar to the A14 Bionic processor.
The Connectivity it’s all about 5G
A report has hinted that Apple has added a supplier of mmWave 5G antennas, it is also placing “a large order” for these in the anticipation of iPhone 13. This implies that Apple could have plans of expanding mmWave 5G beyond the US versions of the iPhone 12.
Touch-Id might be back
There are multiple signs that point to 2021 brings the year that Touch ID returns to the iPhone while coexisting alongside Face ID. The reliable leaker L0vetodream reports that an in-screen Touch ID might soon be making a return to the iPhone. Bloomberg has also reported that Apple has been testing support for an in-screen fingerprint reader for this year’s iPhone.
Larger Batteries?
Battery life on the iPhone 12 took a dip thanks to the 5G adoption along with other changes. This year, Ming-Chi Kuo an Apple analyst, reported that the iPhone 13 will feature larger batteries. This will in turn make the devices heavier, however, will offer users more battery life in return. Apple reportedly seems to be making new space-saving designs, like integrating the SIM card slot with the mainboard, reducing the front optical modules’ thickness, along with few more tweaks. This frees up internal space which could house larger batteries.
The Storage
As per analysts at Wedbush, the iPhone 13 will be available in a new 1TB configuration. The iPad Pro is the only iOS device that’s available in 1TB storage capacities.
Last but not Least- The Colors –
Apple will likely introduce new colors to help the device feel new and enticing enough, that the people feel the need to upgrade. There are reports that state that the iPhone 13 Pro will possibly be available in matte black color. Apple itself has also reportedly prototyped a bronze/orange color but this it doesn’t seem to be launching this year.
