How to Access your clipboard on android? The ability to copy and paste is a basic as well as a simple function of any Android smartphone/tablet. However, if you wish to take it to the next level, you can take full advantage of the clipboard feature, here you will be able to find everything you’ve copied.
Like nearly everything in Android, the clipboard feature works differently depending on the device’s skin as well as the Android version. Samsung along with LG phones have built-in clipboards. Whereas, other devices can only access the clipboard via a keyboard app.
For this article, we will be focusing on using the clipboard with a keyboard app. This method will effectively work on any Android device.
How to access your clipboard on Android?
- First, you have to have a keyboard app that has a clipboard feature. Two of the most popular choices are Google’s Gboard and Microsoft’s SwiftKey. The clipboards in these apps work quite similarly.
- After you have your keyboard installed and set up, it’s time to use the clipboard. First, you have to copy some text or even a link. Note – The clipboard does not support images.
- Next, visit the app where you wish to paste what you copied, then tap on the text box to bring up the keyboard. Search for a clipboard icon in the top toolbar.
- This will open the clipboard, here you will be able to see the recently copied item at the front of the list. Simply tap on any of the options in the clipboard to paste it into the text field.
What has to be kept in mind is that Android does not save items to the clipboard forever. After some time, the oldest clipboard items will be deleted. Both apps provide the users the option to “pin” items to the clipboard. To prevent them from being deleted after an hour. To do so long-press an item, then choose the “Pin” option.
If you find yourself copying as well as pasting a lot on Android, the clipboard could be an invaluable tool for you. You can copy a bunch of things at once, then you can paste them independently without having to hop back and forth.
