If you can copy and paste things on your device, then it will be having a “clipboard,” this is the place where anything you copy will be kept. However, the majority of devices do not let users see the clipboard, this just works invisibly in the background.
Android devices thankfully, do not follow this rule. As there are two ways you can see your clipboard on an Android device, depending on the version of Android you’re running
How to see the Clipboard on Android via Gboard?
Gboard is Google’s official keyboard app, it is preinstalled on the majority of Android phones. Gboard has a few extra features that regular keyboards do not offer, for example, clipboard history.
Tip: If your Android device doesn’t use Gboard, you can just install it from the Google Play Store, then enable it in the Settings app’s System menu.
To see the clipboard while using Gboard, you have to tap the clipboard icon in the keyboard’s top row, beside the settings gear. A page will open, tap on Turn on Clipboard.
Now, anything you copy or cut will be saved to this menu for an hour. You have the ability to open it and tap any of the saved items to immediately insert it wherever you are typing. You also can tap the pencil icon to delete things from the clipboard history.
The Clipboard menu is also customizable so it holds screenshots you have taken recently. To turn this feature on, you need to go back to the regular keyboard, then on the settings gear icon, then Clipboard, and then Save recent screenshots in the clipboard.
How to use the Visual Clipboard on Android 13 devices?
Thanks to the latest Android 13 update, Android users have gained the ability to see what’s in their clipboard as soon as they copy it. You can even edit the clipboard however you want.
To see the clipboard, all you need to do is copy or cut some text. As soon as you save it to the clipboard, a small window will appear in the bottom-left, this will display a preview of whatever’s saved.
After you tap the window, a page will open, here you can edit whatever you saved. You could also tap the share icon instead to immediately share what you copied/cut with anyone.
