Where VINE ended, it gave birth to (TikTok, Reels, Stories, Shorts, everything else):

Vine was one of the most popular apps for social media in 2013 and 2014, but then it began to decline. It’s not surprising that Vine would eventually fade away- with so many other social media platforms like Snapchat and Instagram available, and a lack of innovation on the part of Vine, what could have been?

Vine has had a shaky history since its inception as an app. The idea for Vine was proposed by Dom Hofmann who pitched it to his co-founder Rus Yusupov at their company Tiny Speck. They were initially rejected from Apple because they weren’t able to provide any “compelling reason” why people should use their app over YouTube or Flickr (two competing companies).
