Flappy Bird flew away to freedom:
There are many theories as to why the app, Flappy Bird, was a success. One theory is that the game’s graphics were too simplistic, and thus it looked like something even children could play. Another theory is that there was an element of luck involved in playing the game because chance ruled over skill.
The most compelling theory is that people enjoyed how easy it was to become addicted to this game; humans have been known since time immemorial for their addiction to gambling and other activities where they can win or lose money or prizes over small periods of time. All of these reasons may be true, but we will never know for sure because Dong Nguyen pulled the app from the circulation of his own volition after becoming disturbed by its popularity and notoriety in popular culture.
