Google Plus was an ambitious project that aimed to be the social networking site of the internet. It had a great idea with its concept of Circles, but it failed miserably because people abandoned it for other networks. Google may have been too early in entering this market and should have waited until they were more confident in their product before releasing it.

Social media is not something you can just throw out there without any marketing or promotion and hope people will flock to your product; especially when you’re going up against Facebook, which has billions of users already on their platform.
