I don’t enjoy Microsoft Word 2021 or 365 telling me what to do and how to do it. The way Word auto-capitalizes things that I don’t want it to make me feel vexed. It so happens that words can’t understand that we can capitalize our work and where we don’t want to. Thankfully, you have the ability to change Word’s Automatic Capitalization settings to your liking by performing the given steps.
While using Word, click on the “File” menu, then click on “Options “. If that appears to be hidden, click on “More… “, then click on “Options “.
Choose “Proofing,” then click on the “AutoCorrect Options…” button.
After you press the button, you can check the boxes to customize what you wish the Word to capitalize automatically.
- Correct Two Initial Capitals
- Capitalize the first letter of sentences
- Capitalize the first letter of table cells
- Capitalize names of days
- Correct accidental usage of caps lock key
You can also set Exceptions if you do not wish the settings to apply to certain words.
Click on “OK“, then click “OK” again after you are done.
