The Oculus Store is full of exciting games and apps that offer engaging virtual reality experiences. Unfortunately, a purchase might sometimes disappoint you. Maybe it wasn’t what you thought it would be.
If this is the case, you could refund an app you purchased from the Oculus Store. However, certain conditions need to be met; here is what you must know.
How to Refund an App on the Oculus Store?
If you wish to request a refund for something you purchased on the Oculus Store, you need to use the companion Oculus app on your phone, regardless of which Oculus headset you have.
You could also request a refund for an app you received as a gift; only you, as the recipient can request the refund. However, the money will return to the purchaser, not you.
- First, open the Oculus app.
- Select a menu from the bottom menu.
- Tap on Settings.
- Tap on Purchase History.
- Locate what you wish to refund, then tap on the three vertical dots.
- Tap on Request refund.
- Follow the instructions on the screen, then include why you wish for a refund.
After you submit it, the Oculus team will review the refund. This generally takes up to 5 days. However, note that you will immediately lose access to the app after you request a refund.
If the Oculus team grants a refund, the money will be returned to your original payment method, which might take up to two weeks.
If the refund is declined, you will regain access to the app.
The Oculus Store Refund Conditions
To initiate a refund on a purchase in the Oculus Store, you should initiate it within 14 days of purchase, and you should also have used the app for less than two hours.
The Oculus store rarely grants refunds on subscriptions, films, bundles, and content purchased in-app. or apps you have previously refunded as well as repurchase.
However, say you do not qualify for a refund under these terms, Meta (Oculus’ parent company) might still grant you a refund. This also applies whether the app is faulty or if it is not as advertised. Therefore, you will have to contact Oculus Support rather than use the above instructions.
For complete information, you can refer to the Oculus refund policy.
Experiment With Your Oculus Headset
Thanks to the Oculus refund policy, there is minimal risk if you try out an app to see if it is worth keeping. However, you might lose the right to a refund if you abuse the system by constantly repaying everything.
