How to get Phone Icon Back on iPhone?

There are sometimes when you might not be able to find the Phone icon on your iPhone. The phone application is probably the most essential app on the iPhone for nearly all users. The app enables you to make as well as receive calls. Not just that, your voicemails along with your contacts can be accessed via the Phone app.

If the icon has suddenly disappeared from your screen, you might begin to wonder how to get it back. By default, the Phone app icon is located in the Dock, despite the iPhone model. There are 4 methods you can use to bring back your missing Phone Icon on your iPhone.  

• Restart and check for updates   
• You can Use Search or Siri to find the missing icon 
• Check your App Library to bring back your Phone   
• Reset your Home Screen layout

Restart and check for updates  

Restarting your iPhone is one of the easiest fixes to fix the most common issues. First, you need to shut off your iPhone by navigating to Settings > General > Shut Down, then after your iPhone has fully powered off, press and hold the Power button (this is situated on the top or side of your phone) until the Apple logo reappears. After you restart the iPhone you may see that the Phone icon has reappeared.  

After restarting, make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update to check for updates. If there is an update available, you can follow the onscreen instructions to update the iPhone.  

You can use Search or Siri to find the missing icon  

Even though you might not be able to see the Phone Icon in the Dock, it is possible that the Phone app is still on one of your screens. However, you might have accidentally moved it somewhere. You can use Search to locate it, you can then move it to the Dock again. Follow the given steps to find the Phone icon using Search:  

• You need to open Search by swiping down from the middle of the Home screen.  
• After you do so, it will reveal a search field. Here, enter your phone.  
• Do the results include the Phone app?  
  • If you are able to see the Phone app in the results, then you can open the Phone app. Or, you could just touch, then hold the Phone app until there is a click accompanied with a small menu. Keep holding and drag the icon. Your Home screen will reappear, then you will be able to drag it to your Dock or elsewhere on the iPhone screen.  

If not, you have the ability to use Siri to locate the app. You can launch Siri and tell Siri something, for example, “open the Phone app,” and Siri will listen to this command and launch the app. Then, you will be able to check your voicemails or make calls.  

Check your App Library to bring back your Phone  

It is not possible for you to completely delete the Phone app, unlike the majority of the other built-in apps. One possibility is, however, to remove the Phone app from your Home Screen. When an application is removed from the Home Screen, you will still be able to find it in your App Library. Thus, checking your App Library is a good solution, you need to locate the Phone icon, then drag it to your Home Screen. Follow the given steps to check your App library to bring back you Phone Icon:  

• You need to open App Library by swiping left past all your Home Screen pages. You have to keep swiping left until the App Library opens.  
• You will then be able to see all of your apps organized into categories. Search for the Phone app. Here, you have the ability to also use Search, this is located at the top of the App Library screen.  

• After you manage to find it, press, then drag it to your Home Screen.  

Reset your Home Screen layout  

You have the ability to restore the default Home Screen layout. Don’t worry doing this will not erase your content or data. However, your app folders will be deleted, but their contents will be safe, along with all pre-loaded iOS apps, including the Phone app, which will be placed back in their original positions, to resemble the order form when you first purchased the device. On top of that, the apps you installed will be organized in alphabetical order.   

You might want to take a Home Screen screenshot if you deem it necessary before proceeding, so it can act as a way to remember the arrangement of your apps and folders. If you want to continue, follow the following steps on your iPhone:  

Navigate to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. Then follow the displayed onscreen instructions.  

After you perform the reset; you will be able to see your Phone icon is in the Dock again.
