You can preorder the iPad Mini and iPad 2021 starting today. Apple’s “California Streaming” was filled with a bustle of announcements, ranging from the latest iPhone 13 to the Apple Watch Series 7. Apple used the showcase to introduce the latest tablets, the ninth-gen iPad as well as the all-new iPad Mini. The latter is more of a follow-up to the 2019 iPad Mini that takes heavy design inspirations from the iPad Air of last year. The new models are ready to launch this September 24th, starting from $329 and $499, respectively. However, the preorders begin today.
Where to Preorder the iPad Mini and iPad 2021?
The new iPad Mini is far different from the original iPad Mini model it is also one of the bigger revamps to come to Apple’s smallest tablet since its debut in 2012 when considered spec-wise. The new model features slimmer bezels, an A15 Bionic chip, along with a larger, 8.3-inch display. This forthcoming tablet as its brethren ditches the aging home button, adds USB-C support, also incorporates a Touch ID sensor top-mounted power button. It also supports 5G and Wi-Fi 6. Works with the second-gen Apple Pencil also features a 12MP ultrawide camera on the front. Additionally, like the ninth-gen iPad, it rolls with iPadOS 15.
This 9th gen model iPad has a new processor named the A13 Bionic, which is supposedly 20 percent faster than the outgoing model. Even this boasts a 12mp front camera, however, the updates are more trivial. The new iPad still comes equipped with the same 10.2-inch display, but this time with Apple’s True Tone technology, along with a Lightning port, an outdated home button, and a single rear camera.
The latest iPad Mini-grants has two storage options, 64 GB and 256 GB, along with four colorway options being purple, pink, starlight, and space gray. However, the iPad provides only two color variants being silver and space gray. The 64 GB configuration retails for around $499 and the 256 GB model for $649; both models are available for preorder, with shipments expected to arrive before its launch on September 24th.
