Using Visual Voicemail on your iPhone, one can see a list of their messages and choose which ones to listen to or delete. Part of the first task when setting up a new iPhone is to activate Visual Voice Mail. This feature allows you to set a default greeting or to customize that greeting that caller hears when their calls are forwarded. If your service provider supports Visual Voicemail, follow the given steps:
How to Set up Visual Voicemail on your iPhone?
- Navigate to the Phone app on your home screen, then tap on the Voicemail tab.
- Tap on Set Up Now.
- Create a solid voicemail password after that tap as done.
- Enter the password again to confirm, then tap on Done.
- Select Custom or Default greeting.
-  If you choose Custom, you’ll be able to record a new greeting.
- Then tap on Save
How to transfer your existing Voicemail?
- Navigate to the Phone app on your home screen, then tap on the Voicemail tab.
- Tap on Set Up Now.
- Enter the password, * then tap on done.
- Record a customized greeting, or you can also use the default greeting.
- Then tap on Save.
If you are not able to set up Visual Voicemail, then you need to contact your carrier to make sure that your plan supports the voicemail feature.Â
You could also try these steps, and check up on your Voicemail after every step.
- Make the latest version of iOS is installed on your device.
- Check for a carrier-bundle update, which can be done by: Going to Settings > General > About. If an update is available a message will prompt you to perform the update.
- To check your cellular connection, try and call someone.
- Make sure you have Voicemail set up.
- Call your iPhone from another phone, then try to leave yourself a voicemail.
- On your keypad press and hold 1, or press the Call Voicemail button. This dials voicemail helps check if you missed any messages.
- If you have more than one cellular plan, then try switching to the other plan.
- Follow this: Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap on Reset Network Settings
