1. The server application that runs on your computer where your media files are stored.
2. Plex app that runs on your computers, phones, tablets, or streaming devices.
Is Plex Safe?

It offers TLS certificates for encrypted connections between servers & client applications. The customer information they collect is safeguarded. Settings > Server > Network in the Plex Web App, see that Secure Connection’s preference is enables (we propose leaving it at the default setting of Preferred).
