How did the final Picture of the r/Place look?
What is r/Place? Well, if you did not browser Reddit recently, or in case you haven’t heard, Reddit has brought back r/place – its collaborative artwork board. The grid is a large canvas where collaborators place tiles, creating a collective digital art piece. The artwork became live at midnight on April 2 and contributions from around the world have created an amazing piece of art!
Everything has to come to an end, and so does r/place. Finally, after entertaining and bringing people together r/place finally ended and we managed to capture the final screenshot of R/Place. Hope you enjoyed it and we really hope it will come back soon. To continue to know what r/Place is please continue to read.
On April 1, 2017, Reddit announced /r/place, which was then reborn five years later on April 1, 2022. The Wordle creator Josh Wordle is also responsible for the viral experiment.
It will only stay for a few days, and if you want to be one of the millions who color the canvas with colored pixels, we can show you how to do it.
WHAT IS R/PLACE?
If you’ve updated the Reddit app to the most recent version, you may have noticed that the logo has changed. The current design is pixelated, as opposed to the previous logo’s solid appearance. Many people are perplexed by this, and they’re wondering if it’s Reddit’s new emblem. It is technically a new logo for Reddit, but only for a brief time.
To commemorate April Fools this year, Reddit is bringing back r/Place, which was previously released in 2017. So, what exactly is r/Place? Consider it a huge canvas made up of millions of tiles to start with. This canvas is designated as a blank piece of paper. Every Reddit user on the planet has a chance to contribute to its filling. It was one of the most massive collaborative efforts ever when it was going on, and it will be fascinating to watch what happens when the entire community of millions participates in creating something. r/Place will be accessible until April 5th at midnight ET.
In a few words, r/Place is a dedicated subreddit with a blank canvas of tiny white pixel grids. Users on Reddit can fill the blank canvas or may place colorful pixels every five minutes to make an enormous piece of art.
In 2017, Reddit served as the April Fool’s Day experience for its users, and it was a huge hit, which is why it’s back. In fact, one of Reddit’s most popular April Fool’s Day jokes was this one.
How r/Place Works
Users who wish to support the artwork must first click on (or tap, depending on the device they are using) the new widget icon with the letter “P” at the top of the home feed, or open their community drawer in their app and tap it.
The goal of r/Place is straightforward. Any logged-in Reddit user can post a tile or pixel of their choice on Reddit’s huge blank 1000×1000 canvas, which is provided by the site. You are free to use any color pixel or tile as you choose. There’s only one restriction: You can only add a tile or pixel every five minutes.
Clicking anywhere on the canvas will display a 1000*1000 pixel square, which users can contribute to every five minutes by tapping anywhere on it. The artwork is accessible to anybody who goes to Reddit. Users not logged in will see it developing but won’t be able to contribute to it.
Because it allows any logged-in Reddit user to contribute, the canvas grows in real-time. Even if you don’t use Reddit or are logged out of the site, you may follow how events develop. There’s only one restriction: you won’t be able to participate; instead, you’ll just watch from the sidelines.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST AND HOW TO DO IT?
Starting April 1 at 9 a.m. ET, the Reddit r/Place experience will be available on Reddit’s mobile and web applications. The canvas will be accessible until April 5 at midnight ET, allowing you plenty of time to join in Reddit’s artistic experiment.
You’ll need a Reddit account to join in the fun on r/Place’s April Fools’ Day experience. If you don’t have one, don’t panic; you can create an account and be up in a few minutes here.
