The 15 million-odd Google Pay users in the US can now transfer money to India/Singapore hassle-free. Google has launched a partnership with remittance firms Wise and Western Union to allow international money transfer to India and Singapore.
Given the high volume of monthly Google Pay users in India, this new feature would ease the international transaction process for immigrant workers in the US. Immigrant workers in the US previously used remittance services like Remitly to transfer money to India. But the transfer will take about 3-5 business days unless you use their express service. Google Pay’s entry into the remittance industry will enable fast and inexpensive international money transfer. Although Google has only announced the international money transfer service for India and Singapore, they plan to expand the service to more than 200 countries by the end of the year.
