Google Pixel 6 series is set to launch its flagship phone Pixel 6 later this year, a leaner, meaner design with many spec upgrades is expected in this latest edition. The Pixel 6 should be here anytime soon, rumors about the release date, price, cameras, and more are in the air. Let’s endeavor to detail some rumored features.
Based on previous releases, Pixel 6 might have been releasing in the first week of October. Google has unveiled a new Pixel in October every year since 2016, with exceptions belonging to last year’s Pixel 5 (announced on Sept 30) the whole year was exceptional, so we forgive Google. Pixel 6 could be unveiled and released within the month of October.
What are the Variants of the New Pixel 6?
Last year Google had only launched a single version of the pixel 5, a 6.6-inch mobile. But this year, a pixel might consider coming up with two models, raven, and oriole, or Pixel 6 and Pixel 6xl/Pro.
Camera
Pixel phones undoubtedly have the best camera of all flagships. But pixel users last year were disappointed after learning that the telephoto lens was not part of pixel 5. Google Pixel 6 is rumored to have an under-display camera, the only positive rumor we’ve heard so far. Pixel 6 will include two rear cameras, with the 6 XL/Pro sporting three based on the renders, they also show an unknown sensor above the flash.
Pixel 6 and XL/Pro seem that both variants will be having a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel ultrawide, with the larger phone also boasting a 48-megapixel telephoto lens. There are rumors of it having a 5x zoom option. The front cameras could be 8MP and 12 MP for the 6 and 6XL/Pro.
Design
Google has already proven in the past that they aren’t afraid to incorporate radical design changes. For instance, Google Pixel 5 used an aluminum rear while also having bio-raisin plastic to support wireless charging. We can expect this incorporation in pixel 6 as well. Google’s future flagships would probably still have chunky cameras, the current industry standard. According to another rumor, the front of the phone is all display and the fingerprint sensor is within the screen.
Processor
Google used the Snapdragon 765G processor for pixel 5. According to a recent rumor, a new homegrown processor “Whitechapel” chip might be introduced in pixel 6, a bold and risky move. The Pixel 6 might be powered by an 8 GB and the 6XL/Pro by a 12 GB Ram. While both might be equipped with Android 12.
What’s the Battery specs?
Google Phones traditionally suffered from battery life. The Pixel 5 had a 4000 mAh battery which is better than previous versions but still inadequate. Rumors seem to suggest Pixel 6 having a 4,614 mAh while 6XL/Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery.
Screen Size & Storage
Screen sizes could potentially be 6.4-inch and 6.71-inch for 6 and 6XL/Pro respectively. The internal storage variants for 6 could be 128 GB/ 256 GB, while 6XL/Pro might have 128 GB/256 GB/512 GB.
Google Pixel 6 Release date
Based on previous releases, pixel 6 might have a release date in the first week of October. If everything goes well during these COVID times, we can expect no changes in the release dates.

Google released the Pixel 5 at 699 USD as their only flagship phone last year. But Google might consider releasing two variants pixel 6, pixel 6 XL/Pro this time priced at 799 USD and 699 USD.
