The S series: the high-end smartphones
The Samsung Galaxy S series is a series of high-end smartphones by Samsung. Every year, new S models are released. The higher the number after the S, the more recent the model is. At the time of this writing, the S22 is the latest model. Along with the S starter model, Samsung also launches a more advanced Plus version yearly. The Ultra version of the S is the highest-end device that Samsung provides. Samsung’s S Ultra smartphones often host the most advanced cameras Samsung has to offer.
The pros of the Samsung S series:
- Luxurious design
- Suitable for the most challenging tasks
- razor-sharp photos, extensive zoom range.
- average battery
- Fast charging
- can charge wirelessly.
The glass back and thin bezels
The tech giant gives the high-end Samsung Galaxy S series a luxurious look. The back of the Galaxy S series smartphones is made up of glass. The screen has almost no bezels, so it continues to the sides of the smartphone.
S series: Camera – One of the best and sharpest cameras available, with a wide zoom range.
The Samsung Galaxy S series smartphones are known for their advanced cameras. The users can take sharp and colorful photos during the day and in low light. The users can also record videos of up to 8K quality. Thanks to the telephoto lenses, users can zoom in up to three times while the photo remains sharp. If you buy the Galaxy S Ultra versions of the S series, you can even zoom in up to 10 times without losing any quality.
Fast charging: wireless charging is also supported.
In general, the batteries of the Galaxy S smartphones tend to last the whole day. In addition to the capacity, they support fast charging at 25W. This way, it takes nearly a tad bit more than an hour to charge. Users also can charge their smartphones from the Samsung S series wirelessly. The wireless charging supports up to 15W, which will take about 2 hours. Sadly, the charger is not included in the box, so you must order one separately.
A series: These are starter models as well as mid-range models
In the Samsung A series, you will be able to find starter models as well as mid-range smartphones. The higher the number following the A, the better the device will be. Samsung Galaxy A smartphones with a model above 40 are generally mid-range models. The ones that have lower numbers are usually the starter models. Every year, Samsung releases new models, which makes the numbers rise. For example, the Samsung Galaxy A22 is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A21.
Compared to the S Series, it has a less luxurious design and takes less sharp photos and videos. In addition, the A series often has no fast-charging support, and they do not have any wireless charging capability.
The A series is suitable for everyday use, and one of its good points is that it has a big battery.
A series: Build-Plastic Back
The Samsung Galaxy A series smartphones generally have a plastic back. This makes these A-series devices look less luxurious and makes the smartphones more lightweight. The bezels found on the Galaxy A series are thicker than those on the S and Z series.
A camera series – Produces less sharp images.
The options provided with Galaxy A smartphones are less extensive, as they do not have a telephoto lens to zoom in without quality loss. During the day, you can take lovely photos and record excellent videos; however, the cameras face some difficulty in low-light situations. In common light conditions, you will be able to notice fewer details as well as colors. In addition, with the A-series devices with a number lower than 50, you will not get optical image stabilization. Which further makes your photos blurrier.
A series It has a large battery, but it charges slower.
Many devices from the Galaxy A series have a large battery that lasts longer than a day with average use. However, you will not be able to charge Samsung A-series smartphones wirelessly. Many Galaxy A devices only support charging at 15W. It takes 100 minutes to charge fully. Samsung A models with a number above 50 take around an hour to charge at 25W.
J Series
The Samsung Galaxy J series is a discontinued line (however, capable devices continue to receive software updates) of entry-level Android mobiles. The J series was first introduced in 2015; it was discontinued after the release of J8 in 2018.
Though it was sometimes identified as a mid-range series, the J series phones were primarily entry-level devices. They were built with low-cost hardware. Unlike the A-series, which at least come with premium aluminum bodies, all Galaxy J series devices are made with plastic materials on the outside. The Galaxy J8 also had a plastic body.
With the J series, Samsung has focused more on affordability than performance. This is why the best, priciest, and most recent member of the J series (Galaxy J8) came with a 1.8GHz Octa-Core processor and 3GB of RAM.
There is no debate in terms of performance and pricing; the A series beat the J series hands down in all aspects.
Some of the most popular Samsung Galaxy J series members were the Galaxy J1 Ace Neo, Galaxy J2, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J6 Plus, and Galaxy J5.
