Apple has released a new update for Safari Technology Preview, the avant-garde browser Apple first introduced in March 2016. Safari Technology Preview is created to test features that might be introduced in future release versions of Safari. It takes user’s feedback and incorporates bug fixes and performance improvements for Web Inspector, CSS, JavaScript, Live Text, Media, Performance API, and Web API. Tab Groups do not sync in this release.
The modern Safari Technology Preview release is built on the new Safari 15 update, contains several Safari 15 features. Safari Technology Preview is a non-standard version of Apple’s web browser that focuses on developers.
Safari Technology Preview Features:
Due to the user’s complaints regarding the new Safari 15 interface, the company has changed it again. This version now defaults to separate tab and address bars. A single bar is still available in the View menu through the “Show Separate Tab Bar” option. It also Improved Safari Extensions support.
- Live Text – Customers can select & interact with texts in images on the web (macOS Monterey beta* and an M1 Mac are required).
- Quick Notes – Supports adding links & Safari highlights to help remember crucial information and ideas.
- Other updates contain WebGL 2 and new HTML, CSS, and JavaScript features.
Prerequisites:
The new Preview 128 can be installed on both macOS Monterey beta and also macOS Big Sur. Good news to users who are currently running the latest macOS official release, they get to experience the latest Safari changes without needing to install beta versions of the operating system.
