Twitter is into subscriptions game and it introduced a new subscription plan called “Twitter Blue”. It is currently available only in Australia and Canada, with future plans to launch it worldwide. The cost of this subscription plan is 3.49CAD in Canada or 4.49 AUD in Australia. This is a first attempt by Twitter to create a revenue source by itself, whereas, until now it is completely dependent on their ad revenue. And, to be honest, Twitter revenue from ads is not that great, to begin with.
What features will the new Twitter Blue give you for the price?
The first feature Twitter is trying to sell this service is “Undo Tweet“. This, basically does what it says, you can undo your Tweet even after publishing it. But, (we know there is always a but) there is a catch, it gives you 30 secs to undo that tweet before it goes live. Well, it might not matter if you have a few hundreds of followers, you can delete and post the new one. But, for many with huge followers, this feature will be God’s gift. You can use this function in Tweets, replies, and threads on your timeline.

The second feature in this list is, “Bookmark folders”. Currently, users can save tweets on Twitter, similar to Reddit and Facebook. But, now with Twitter blue, you will be able to organize those saved tweets into their specific folders. Twitter says this will help you find the saved tweets better. This feature is already available on Facebook.
And, the third big feature “Readers mode”. With this, users will be able to read twitter in distraction-free view. Twitter says this will help you read long threads without any distraction by turning them into easy to read text.
Twitter also mentioned in their blog post “Subscribers will also get access to perks, such as customizable app icons for their device’s home screen and fun color themes for their Twitter app, and will have access to dedicated subscription customer support.”
